Role Overview
The Digital Infrastructure & Collaboration Lead is responsible for the institutional digital ecosystem of Cognitra Group. The role combines technical expertise with systems thinking, ensuring that digital infrastructure remains secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with the institution’s long-term mission.
Working closely with leadership and collaborators across multiple disciplines, you will help shape the digital architecture supporting research, publishing, collaboration, audiovisual production, artificial intelligence, and future institutional initiatives.

A coherent digital infrastructure
You will contribute to the design and maintenance of a digital environment that supports secure communication, effective collaboration, structured knowledge management, and reliable day-to-day operations.
An environment for meaningful collaboration
Our work brings together researchers, writers, designers, consultants, AI specialists, filmmakers, and external collaborators. You will help create digital systems that enable these diverse contributors to work together with clarity, efficiency, and confidence.
Responsible AI-enabled workflows
Artificial intelligence forms part of our evolving working environment. You will help integrate AI responsibly into institutional workflows while ensuring appropriate governance, security, documentation, and human oversight.
Long-term institutional resilience
You will contribute to protecting the institution’s digital assets through thoughtful governance, security, documentation, backup strategies, and continuous improvement, ensuring that knowledge and institutional capability remain sustainable over time.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Designing and improving the institution’s digital infrastructure.
Managing collaboration environments and digital workspaces.
Administering identity, access, permissions, and user management.
Supporting cloud-based systems and digital operations.
Developing secure and scalable workflows.
Protecting institutional knowledge and digital assets.
Maintaining documentation and digital governance standards.
Advising leadership on technology-related decisions.
Monitoring system reliability, security, and operational resilience.
Evaluating emerging technologies and recommending appropriate solutions.
Contributing to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
Required Qualifications
Education
A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Digital Infrastructure, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent professional experience demonstrating advanced technical capability will also be considered.
Professional Experience
You have experience designing, managing, or supporting modern digital environments and enjoy working across both strategic and operational responsibilities. Experience in research, education, publishing, consulting, the creative industries, or knowledge-based organisations is advantageous.
Technical Expertise
We are looking for demonstrated experience in several of the following areas:
Cloud infrastructure and digital workplace technologies.
